The Brewmeister ("Jode-Wha") grew up in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Throughout his childhood he became interested in tinkering with machines. After graduating from high school he attended Michigan Technological University (MTU) in Houghton, Michigan. He graduated from MTU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Jode-Wha met and married his wife Meg, who also attended MTU, in the fall of 1980.

He founded the Thompson Heights Brewery (THB) in January of 2007. After years of diligent research Jode-wha decided to devote his time and energy into mastering the art of home brewing. The precision of his passion has resulted in medal-winning brews that are enjoyed by many!

Now being retired, he enjoys doing Handyman Work as "Call Jody" for a few customers, spending time with his kids and grandkids, kayaking with his wife Meg and just puttsing around the 40.
